A woman’s body has been found in a vehicle in Birmingham after a man was chased from his job, authorities said.
A Birmingham woman called police Sunday afternoon and told them the woman’s vehicle had been found about 3:15 p.m. in the area of W. Franklin Boulevard and North Lamar Boulevard, Birmingham police spokesman Sgt. Mark Dyer said.
Officers responded to the scene and found the woman, who was conscious, and the woman had a gunshot wound to the chest.
She was taken to Birmingham Regional Medical Center in critical condition.
She was later identified as 23-year-old Jessica C. McBride.
She has been charged with first-degree murder.
The woman’s driver is a 23–year, 2 1/2-year veteran of the Birmingham Escort Agency who has been with the agency for six months.
Dyer said police have been in contact with the woman and her family.
Investigators said the car had no other injuries.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call police.
