A teenage escort who was arrested on charges of allegedly posting anti of gay dating sites in New York City faces new allegations.
The 19-year-old, whose identity was not immediately released, is accused of making explicit and threatening posts about the escort industry on a website called “EscortJacksonville.com.”
“I just want to let you know I’m a gay guy, I’m straight, and I love you all the same, said the post.
The escort was arrested by NYPD on Thursday on charges that she posted a number of pictures of herself on dating sites including “Passion” and “I’m a hot lady” in which she allegedly wrote, “I love you gay guys.”
A lawyer for the escort, who is from New Jersey, did not immediately return messages seeking comment.
The escort was arraigned Friday in Manhattan Criminal Court.
In a statement to The Associated Press, the New York Police Department said the teen “is facing criminal charges and is currently in custody at the New Jersey State Correctional Institution.
We are investigating this matter further.
“The arrest comes amid a nationwide backlash against gay marriage and other issues related to gay and transgender people.
The backlash began after New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a controversial law allowing same-sex couples to marry, which critics say violates the Constitution.
Cuomo has also been under scrutiny for comments he made to the Associated Press that suggested the law’s passage could have been reversed had he known more about it.
