— A New York escort arrested Tuesday for allegedly soliciting an undercover police officer in a prostitution sting has been charged with four counts of prostitution.
The arresting officer, who is a Grand Rapids police officer, said he spoke to an undercover cop for nearly an hour about a sex act with a woman at a motel in the suburb of Grand Rapids in October.
Grand Rapids police said in a news release Tuesday that they were notified of the arrest by a Grand Blanc escort.
The escort, identified as 28-year-old Aimee, was charged with three counts of soliciting prostitution, and two counts of second-degree sexual assault.
Aimee is scheduled to appear in court on June 19.
The Grand Rapids Police Department has about 3,600 sworn officers and has the largest force in the state.
The force is based in the city’s downtown area and includes several regional forces, including the Grand Rapids Area Response Unit and the Grand Rapid Patrol.
